Networking and Working from YOURSELF

I am beginning to discover more about the ART of networking. It really does start with you and your personal network. I have this image in my mind about reach outwards and trying to pull people in, as opposed to working from yourself and reaching out to those closest to you. When you begin with YOU, you begin to flash like some sort of beacon, and you send out a wave, like an audio pulse or like skipping a stone in water.
And if you are working from yourself with honesty and passion your limitations disappear, and this world becomes more like the vast ocean of opportunity that really is.

I guess I could then say that we should work FROM ourselves FOR ourselves, because the payoff to this is sheer joy. Also we must remember that energy is contagious, so awareness of where we are with ourselves is a huge factor when it comes to our interactions with other people. This limits projecting onto others and ego driven drama. It becomes easier to weed through interactions with negative people, stay grounded and focussed, and SHINE! :)

A book that I really love is "The Four Agreements" By Miguel Ruiz. They sounds simple, but these can make a great difference when it comes to networking and social interactions.

(from the inside cover of the book)
1. BE IMPECCABLE WITH YOUR WORD
Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.

2. DON'T TAKE ANYTHING PERSONALLY
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. What you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering.

3. DON'T MAKE ASSUMPTIONS
Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness, and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

4. ALWAYS DO YOUR BEST
Your best if going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgement, self-abuse, and regret.

Now if we apply these JUST to networking, think of the strong relationships we can all develop!

XOXO

Kate
